Being myself, is one of the most important element in a musician's life/career.
It is easy, yet also difficult.
If you have ever paid attention to those American TV show stars, you will pretty much understand what "being myself" means to an actor / actress.
They discovered themselves in the different ways from each other, realized how various each person is and developed a characteristic personality.
Therefore, the producer casting them in a very honest and natural senses of their peronalities which makes them successful stars.
I am learning how important it is to " be myself" from my opera workshop class and my voice teacher.
It is difficult but interesting and challenging! I am very happy with what I have done in the past two weeks and feel very proud of myself.
I'm really fortunate enough to have many wonderful teachers in my life teaching me not only singing but also the life experiences.
They taught me to be a stronger person, to be a humble musician, and a confident woman.
Thanks GOD for giving me these blessings!
Today, as my voice teacher told me to sing as my speaking voice , do not try to put my favorite opera singer's voice into my body.
Hmmmm........ I have never thought I was imitating any one's voice. In fact, I was and I know who that person is.
Nothing is wrong to admire a singer and learn things from her/him as long as you always keep your own voice and develp it into a strong, sepcial and unique sound.
The moment I had my pure and real voice coming out from my mouth, I felt released.
I immediately knew that was me "being myself", it was so free and beautiful.
I can't say anyword more than what I can think of.
Thanks God again to cheer me up when I reached the down point of my studies.
Opens up the whole new world in front of me and challenges me to be brave and strong!
What an amazing bless!
I just LOVE it!
